It's common for couples to have a break from sex after having a baby. You're both busy adjusting to what life looks like with a baby in your world. Your attention is on feeding, sleeping, changing and the constant demands of a little human, plus juggling work, career, and general life stuff. When you both get a quiet moment to yourself, sleep calls your name.
It takes time to reconnect as a couple again. It starts with reconnecting with you and your body.
1. Give yourself 'me time'.
This is down time to be present for you and with your thoughts. Free from demands and interruptions.
2. Start with love.
Love and appreciate your body for how amazing it is right now. Your body nurtured and brought forth life!
3. Criticism is unhelpful.
Look for things you appreciate about your body. Your body is a gift!
4. Consider what can help you connect to your body.
What can help you feel confident and sexy again? This looks different for everyone. It can be super practical like shaving your legs, applying body lotion, styling your hair, getting a manicure, exercising, dancing or changing your outfit style.
5. Cultivate positive self-talk.
You can give yourself permission to be confident and sexy now (you don't need to look a certain way to feel that).
